Why doesn't Sendiversary send the text by itself?

iPhone doesn't let any app send a text on its own. Sendiversary opens Messages with your note, photos and GIFs already filled in, and you tap Send. That's also why it comes from your own number.

It says Messages isn't available

That happens on devices that can't send texts, like an iPad or an iPhone without a SIM or iMessage. Tap Share to send it another way, such as WhatsApp or Mail.

Where's the Image Playground button?

Card art uses Apple's Image Playground, which only appears on iPhones with Apple Intelligence turned on. Check iPhone Settings › Apple Intelligence & Siri.

Reminders

I'm not getting reminders

Open iPhone Settings › Notifications › Sendiversary and make sure Allow Notifications is on.
In Sendiversary, go to Settings and tap Send a test reminder. One should arrive in about 5 seconds.
Check that the person has a birthday saved and that the occasion is turned on.
If you're on the free plan with more than 15 people, people beyond the first 15 show 🔕 and don't get reminders. Your close circle (⭐) gets first pick.

iPhone only lets an app schedule 64 notifications at a time, so Sendiversary keeps the next few dozen lined up and tops them up whenever you open the app. Opening it every few weeks keeps everything on track.

Can I import birthdays from Facebook?

Facebook removed birthday access for apps in 2018, so no app can import them anymore. Add birthdays to your iPhone Contacts and import from there, or add people by hand. On Today, "people need a birthday" walks you through filling in any that are missing.

Sendiversary Plus

How does the free trial work?

Every new install gets all of Plus free for at least 14 days, and until 3 days after your first message goes out (30 days at most). You aren't charged anything when it ends. You keep the free plan, and nothing you made is deleted.

I bought Plus. How do I get it back on a new phone?

Sign in with the same Apple Account, then open Settings › Sendiversary Plus and tap Restore purchase. Family Sharing is on, so people in your family group get Plus too.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all App Store payments, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data

How do I move to a new phone?

Everything lives on your phone, with no account or cloud, so move it with a backup file:

On your old phone: Settings › Backup › Back up now, and save the file to iCloud Drive or Files.
On your new phone: install Sendiversary, then Settings › Backup › Restore from a backup, and pick that file.

People's photos come along. Attachments on unsent messages don't.

How do I delete my data?

Settings › Erase everything removes all people, drafts, groups, occasions and templates from your phone. Deleting the app does the same. We don't keep a copy anywhere. See the privacy policy for details.
